By Air 

➔ To reach Skandagiri Night Trek by air, you should book a flight to Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in Bangalore, India. Skandagiri is approximately 70 kilometers from the airport.

➔ From there, you can hire a taxi or use other transportation options to reach the base point for the night trek, which is usually around a 2-3 hour drive.

By Road

➔ To reach Skandagiri Night Trek by road, start from Bangalore and head towards Chikkaballapur, which is around 60 kilometers away.

➔ From Chikkaballapur, continue towards Kalavara village, which is the base point for the trek. The trek trail begins from here, and you can reach Chikkaballapur via taxi or private vehicle, which takes approximately 2-3 hours from Bangalore.

By Train

➔ To reach Skandagiri Night Trek by train, you can take a train to Chikkaballapur Railway Station, which is the nearest railway station to the trek's base.

➔ From Chikkaballapur, you can hire a taxi or use local transportation to reach the starting point of the trek, typically taking about 30-40 minutes.

Day 1 - Arrival at base camp

Banglore

  • 11:30 PM: Begin the journey to Skandagiri, located about 70 kilometers from Bangalore. You'll likely reach the base by around 1:30 AM.

Day 2 - Trek starting, sunrise

  • 1:30 AM: Arrive at the Skandagiri base. Your trek guides will provide a brief orientation and distribute any required equipment or safety gear.
  • 2:00 AM: Start the night trek to Skandagiri peak. Trekking under the moonlight creates a unique atmosphere. The trail is rocky and steep in some sections, so proceed carefully.
  • 4:30 AM: Reach the summit just before dawn. Find a comfortable spot to relax and witness the spectacular sunrise over the surrounding landscape.
  • 6:00 AM: As the first light of day breaks, enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise views. Capture photos, savor some breakfast or snacks, and soak in the serene atmosphere.
  • 7:00 AM: Begin the descent from the peak, retracing your steps along the trekking trail. The descent is generally quicker than the ascent.
