The location is situated along the banks of Shiv Sagar Dam. The base village for the Vasota trek is Met Indavali. It takes two hours to reach from here to the peak through the forest.
The trek is ideal to perform in the winter and summer periods. As the fort is covered by thick forest, the view from the top is adorable. One can also enjoy the Shiv Sagar Dam and Kas Mahabaleshwar. If one trek for two hours from Vasota, there will be Nageshwar Ave to the north.

The starting point of this trek is Met Indavali village. Taking a boat for two hours from here, after getting the forest permit, the boat journey connects people to the inner jungle. The trek is around 11 km and it will take 6-7 hours to complete the journey.
The Vasota fort in the Satara region of Maharashtra is well known to everyone. This area is encircled by the western ghats and one will enjoy the great sceneries around.
The trek is moderate to difficult as it involves ups and downs. It is advised to carry necessary gears and sufficient water to adjust to the weather conditions.
It takes 145 kms to reach Vasota fort from Pune. And a journey of 4 hours is needed to reach the base village from Pune.
It will be approximately 250 kms from Mumbai to Vasota. It is better to take a train to satara and rely upon any public/private transportation to reach Vasota.
The whole trek will take 40 kms. One can easily reach the base village by taking public/private transport. From tha base village of Bamnoli it will take 11 ms to each vasota.
