Salher, situated near Waghamba in the Satana tehsil of Maharashtra’s Nasik district, is highlighted.

It stands as the location of the Sahyadri mountain range’s highest fort, boasting the second-highest peak in Maharashtra, reaching an elevation of 1,567 meters (5,141 feet) after Kalsubai. Additionally, it is recognized as the 32nd-highest peak in the Western Ghats. 

Historically, Salher played a prominent role within the Maratha Empire, serving as a destination for the wealth acquired through the raiding of Surat before reaching the Maratha capital forts.

Itinerary For Salher salota trek

Day 1 - Trek to Salher

Dadar

  • We meet at Dadar TT Circle at 11:30 PM and travel by private bus to reach the base village by 5 AM.
  • After breakfast, we start the trek, drop bags at Salota, and enjoy Thepla for lunch. Set up your tents, have dinner, and indulge in games, stargazing, bonfires, and card games.
  • You can choose to sleep or stay awake all night for a memorable experience.

Day 2 - Departure day

  • Early risers can visit Parshuram Temple at 5 AM.
  • After breakfast and tent packing, we'll descend to the base village, have lunch, and aim to leave by 12 PM, with an approximate 8 PM arrival in Dadar depending on traffic.
