Avchitgad Fort is a hill-type fort as it is located on the top of a hill. Avchitgad Killa has an elevation of 992 feet from sea level. This fort trek is even suited for beginners. The Avchitgad fort trek duration is just one hour from the base villages, Medha and Pingalsai. From Medha village, the most popular trekking route for this Killa, Avchitgad trek distance one way is around two kilometres. The Trek requires only one hour to complete. From Medha village, you will be climbing around 202 meters to reach the fort. You can spend your night at Kolad or Roha while on the tour. Roha is a nearby village.

Roha and Nidi are the nearest railway stations. You are free to board a train to either of them at your convenience. After reaching the station you will easily find some local transport which will drop you off at the base village of the fort trek. The trek starts from a well located in Medha. The name of the well is Haud. You can even fill your water bottles from this spot.
If the sky is clear and the weather is good then you will be able to see a no. of other forts from the top of Avchitgad fort. The Names of these forts are Raigad, Ghangad, Sarasgad, Talagad, Sudhagad, Telbaila, and Savashnagad.
Some of the attractions you can consider visiting are a reservoir. There is a dodecagonal-shaped reservoir in the Avchitgad fort. In older times the reservoir was used as a water resource and mainly for washing and bathing purposes. There are another 6 modest tanks having some portable water, the dodecagonal-shaped reservoir. But still, I would suggest you carry your own water and food for the trek. On the top of the fort, the Pingalsai goddess is located. The main entrance gate of the Avchitgad fort is in excellent condition which makes it worth watching.
