Located in the Sahyadri mountain range of Northern Konkan in the east of Pahalgam, Maharashtra, the Kaldurg fort is a hill fort. The fort is located at the height of 1558 ft. The top of the fort is rectangular, and you can see the breathtaking views of the Arabian sea and the industrial town of Palghar to the west, as well as the scenic views of the Surya river to the east. There is no specific historic sign of the fort available except the fort structure.
The fort is divided into two parts due to a rock. A couple of steps separates the upper and the lower part. There are many forest trees on the fort, thus providing a home to many tribes.
The Kaldurg Fort trek's difficulty level is considered medium, and experts and beginners can easily do it. The time taken to reach the top is nearly 2 hours from the base of the village. Kaldurg Fort trek takes less than a day, so that you can visit the place as a one-day outing with your friends and family.
Starting from the Waghoba Khind temple on Palghar-Manor road, the trek is easy to climb and requires nearly 13 hours to complete the whole tour. Rainy conditions are expected in this region, and therefore you must always carry raincoats or umbrellas with you.
