Rajgad is a magnificent and expansive fort, often referred to as the "King of all forts." It is located about 40 kilometers southwest of Pune. This fort holds great historical significance as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj spent approximately 25 years of his life here. Rajgad is renowned for its impressive construction and layout.
The fort can be divided into four distinct sections based on the terrain and fortifications. These sections include Padmavati Machee, Suvela Machee, Sanjevani Machee, and at the center is the Ballekilla.
On a different note, Torna Fort is also known as Prachandagad.
