Rajgad Fort, often referred to as the ‘king of all forts,’ is situated approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Pune. It held a special place in the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji, who spent 25 to 30 years of his life here. The grand fort is divided into Padmavati Machee, Suvela Machee, Sanjevani Machee, with Ballelika at its center.
Torna, also known as Prachandagad, is a massive fort with a history of being a battleground during Shivaji’s rule. Stretching over several kilometers, it bears witness to many historic conflicts.
Last but certainly not least, Raigad Fort, standing at 820 meters, served as the capital of Shivaji’s kingdom. The 1737 steps leading to the
fort remain an iconic feature.
