Velas is a small fishing village at the western coast of Maharashtra. About 220 km farfar from Mumbai, a bit over 100 homes on the coast of the Arabian Sea. It is that point of the 12 months again when a tiny gray head pokes out of the shiny golden sand and takes a breath of the sparkling salty air of the Arabian Sea.
It is a culmination of a prolonged process, which commenced while, under the cover of darkness, its mom emerged from the rolling waves to put her heap of 100-120 eggs at the sandy beach. Oblivious to the arena that awaits it outdoors it's a sandy cocoon, the tiny hatchling is quickly accompanied by 100 others, all crawling their way in the direction of the brightest lights of the horizon.
